The full page is sketched out as a rough draft (the pink lines) and I've already inked about half of it with final clean lines.
On page 1 we got a brief glimpse of Voska the orc (and witness the aftermath of her abilities).
Now on page 2 we meet Thessaly Thornblush – an intrepid sell-sword eager to make a name for herself.
A wanted poster for Voska hangs on the quest board among many others.
Thessaly rips it off the board...
Lots of background poster details to fill in here, room for some fun little Easter eggs and references •ᴗ•
This female dwarf NPC is Ebba Ironthumb, she's in charge of putting up the wanted posters.

Question for you guys – is this phonetically written dwarven (Scottish) accent too hard to read? Is it understandable?
Personally, I think it's fun to give characters accents in their speech bubbles, but I don't want it to be too confusing or distracting.
Should I play it safe with standard text? It would be helpful to hear your thoughts (and you know I have no problem making alternate versions with/without accented text).

There will be text bubbles in this panel too, but I won't reveal what they're talking about just yet.
I'm still deciding on the best way to phrase and format the speech bubbles to fit the space:
It's not obvious yet but this is a dwarven town (hinted at by the runes and dwarven townspeople).
Thessaly gets up close and personal with Ebba, who seems hypnotized by... something...
Is she entranced by Thessaly's massive mercenary milkers? Or the jeweled trinket nestled between them?

2023-06-02 00:34:50 +0000 UTCTo your question on the accent. I did find it hard to understand what she was saying even after reading the standard English. I do enjoy giving characters accents but this one in particular was too hard to read for me.
