Decided I wanted to create an updated look to my older digitigrade legs. I haven’t offered this in a while because I was trying to make time and create something I am actually proud of. To get that nice smooth digi look it is best to integrate the leg into the feet and make it one. At least in my opinion this has been a really clean look and want to do the same.

Highlighted the parts that are heavily padded to create the look. The back of the leg and butt area hasn’t been worked on yet but plan to built that up to have a smoother transition. The key here is to look like you are walking on your toes. I am working on this pattern to fit a variety of body sizes or at least easy to alter.

Even though I want the leg and foot to be attached I still want it to be easy to remove. I am adding a zipper to connect both parts. Will make it easy to wear and wash plus have more than one set of feet.

So how do I build my patterns? I use recycled cardboard, foamies, foam and batting and use a duct tape dummy to get the shape just right. Used my current dog feet toe patterns to have something to build on and go from there. Cut out chunks of cardboard and glued them on and taped them until I had the shape I was happy with.

Still very much a work in progress but will continue to post progress. Excited and relieved it is starting to look decent.
