How to make a mold in Zbrush from a 3D object *for foam casting*

How to make a mold in Zbrush from a 3D object *for foam casting*

(You should have basic knowledge of Zbrush)

A few people had asked on how to make a mold in zbrush and the process I go through to create the mold. I decided I was wasting way too much time doing silicone molds for every 3d printed base I was doing so wanted to change that. This saves you on time and money in materials and allows you to have quite a few molds which would take a lot longer doing it the silicone way. Take in mind the limitation with this would be being able to only cast flexible materials such as expanding foam or latex. If you are wanting to slush cast molds with resin this would not work.

Programs you will need to follow this tutorial:

-Zbrush (paid version since it offers "live booleans")

-Mesh Mixer (free program)

Tutorials to follow up this one:

-How to make a plug for the head in 3D

-Basics of Meshmixer and how to use it

-How to print Molds (how I set them up in Cura/settings)

-Making parts for the head to print separately, such as noses, eyes and teeth

-How to make ears and create ear molds

-Sculpting in Nomad sculpt and how much you can do before having to take it to Zbrush

-How to prepare the print once printed to cast foam/ how to cast foam heads or parts.

These are some of the many tutorials I will be doing over the year. Plan to get at least one tutorial done a month.  If you have any questions be sure to ask and hope this helps. It is a long tutorial but I try to cover as much as possible.
