This mask has been a fun learning project and ready to get it to the next stage. Printed the first prototype to test fit and size and overall really happy with what I currently have. Next step is to figure out the best way to place the straps so the weight is distributed properly. Take in mind this mask is done not as a Covid mask but as a cosplay item (which is why it is so big and more costume like).

The current print is a dirty quick print which still has a lot of the support structures inside, which is why it looks like it does. We wanted to get the fit and overall look. Technically I am not fully done sculpting it and adding more details to the current mask before re printing it again but this next time in resin. Since we have the first sizing down which is a "medium" style fit we are going to print the mask in a few parts via resin printer. Why resin? Because we can get a really clean look overall and then attach the parts, sand, do final clean up and create a silicone mold. We plan to cast the final versions of these in smooth on resin.

The inner ear piece will be removed to create an area for the strap to hide inside and then that section will be attached on top. Meaning I will be able to offer a few styles for the ear pieces which in turn makes it easier to customize.

The mask will have a few extra cut outs in the final run as well but the overall look is seen in these photos. Once the resin version is printed and ready to show we will have a better idea when we will start molding.
This has been a really fun project and excited to keep sharing as we continue our progress with these.
What other species would you like to see in the future? Do you like the more mechanical look we are going for? Want organic looking muzzles as well? We would love to hear your thoughts.
