Would it be really stupid of me to sign a lease that is trying to fix water leak issue? lol

ask for a discount on every month that the issue isn't fixed, and ask how it effects your place specifically

It's saved me a few times. If they work quickly to get it fixed for you then might be salvageable but if they ignore tenants then keep looking.

2026-02-20 07:51:10 +0000 UTCOnce there is a water leak somewhere and they replace the pipes the chances of another water leak in some other unit increases unless they are replacing a large portion. Plus you are running the chances of potential mold in the future . Take your time in finding a home, if you’re exhausted take a day off and restart.

2026-02-20 04:21:16 +0000 UTCWhatever is agreed upon, get it in writing! And push for a third party verification the leak has been fixed to code- none of that Landlord 'Trust me brodie' stuff. Also, never let them know how much you want to move in, etc. Keep your bargaining leverage Ben. <3

2026-02-20 04:08:13 +0000 UTCI would need more context ben. What are your options? Is it possible for you to move with little difficulties or penalties? Do they have a history of not fixing things in the past?
