I can promise you aren't reaching. You're 100% right, but it's a running joke that Drive is about driving and Red Lights is about traffic lights lmao. Red Lights is more ambiguous as the lyrics are genuinely talking about a work obsession, but was written to also be interpreted as an obsession with another person (which they emphasized with the music video). Chan's song Connection is EXTREMELY similar to Drive in that it's pretty obviously sexual, but he jokingly insists it's about wifi.

All of that can be noticed when looking at the lyrics, and yet these 2 men right here have the audacity to say that "it's about driving.", like- who do you take us for? I love it so much, especially the way that Bang Chan is crafting his lyrics, it's always so intricate and detailed, not necessarily in the words and idioms he uses because most of them are ones that are generally spoken anyways (in both english and korean) but in what they mean and represent, in their imagery. This is especially intentional I feel like, since Chan once said (in that infamous 'eating spicy ramen' chan's room episode) that he swears a lot in real life, but we don't see it at all, I think this is his way of saying "you don't see the full me, there's more than meets the eye" and I think that these lyrics done in this way, are a way for him to show that very thing, in a way that's still gentle, and I love that for him.

Unsurprisingly, you caught on right away. I once watched a reaction where the guy honestly thought the song was about driving. I was dumbfounded. He caught on afterwards and edited in his eureka moment, which at least…you know. Better late than never! lol I love how clever Bang Chan and Lee Know are to get a sexy song recorded under the radar. Chan was insisted on multiple occasions that this song is about DRIVING and nothing else, and he will die on that hill. He's also blamed Lee Know for all of the lyrics....and at the time they wrote this song, LK's command of English was not what it is now. Certainly not to the level of handling to amount of puns and metaphors strewn throughout this song. I believe they wrote it together, and it is about driving....but also very intentionally about sex. And LK probably had an idea of what he wanted to write in Korean and Chan added his special punny spin when they worked on the English translation. I mean, how could this NOT be about sex? First of all, the MV features motorcycles, which you don't DRIVE, you RIDE. Then the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. But Bang Chan: "It's about driving, guys." Every time. And also: *blames Lee Know for all of the lyrics* Suspicious.
