The ask window for this Q&A will be open for 24 hours, so make sure to get your questions in before the deadline, which will be Wednesday, July 16th, 12 PM MST. I will not save or answer any questions sent after the deadline!

The author Q&A is a space where you can ask your burning questions and I will give answers as best I can! NSFW, spoilers, and everything else are totally on the table! However, I try to be somewhat vague about totally game-breaking spoilers, though I still often answer them!*
If you want to send in a question, either comment below or ask through the ShoH Tumblr mailbox (usually if you want to remain anonymous). If you do ask on Tumblr, please type #tellmeeverything in your question. If you don't do this, I won't know that you're asking for the Q&A, so your question will not be answered if you don't include that tag!
I will answer around 10-15 questions sent in before the deadline.
*Please note that for clarity purposes, I have to state that I reserve the right to not answer questions that I deem inappropriate, including weird personal questions or those which make me uncomfortable, such as anything involving self-harm or nonconsensual assault. This has been a pretty seamless, common-sense process, but I do have to put that disclaimer!
Finally, for those of you who are new, or if you haven't already, I highly recommend reading through previous Q&As or the frequently-asked questions before you send in your question. It may have been answered already, and I want to maximize the efficiency of these Q&As instead of having to spend time digging up a link to a past answer if I can!

Which chapter was your favorite to write and why: because of the setting, the conflict, the development of certain relationships - and which chapter was the most challenging? Was there a character that surprised you by becoming a fan favorite?

2025-07-16 14:07:54 +0000 UTCI (almost) always play my MC as an enchanter, using glamour, illusions and bewitchments is more my thing than say being a battle mage. However, I never really thought about how fucked up that ability really is. It kinda hit me when MC and Riel were sneaking into Sibellaβs room and MC had to distract the guard and he made a comment about it. And tbh, itβs a totally valid feeling. So my questing is, how do the ROs feel about a MC who is a pretty powerful enchanter (and who is using their powers for good, no manipulating of friends or innocents)? Blade is my absolute favorite RO and I canβt help but feel that he would prefer a MC with a more physical power like a battle mage or maybe an elementalist. Also, just another quick question thatβs been on my mind. When they are on their way to Wallmire and Blade and Chase finds the abandoned camp, the way they described their findings made me think of the Dyatlov Pass incident. Was that an inspiration or is that just a coincidence?
