Hello! At last, Tallys's room art is here! 🍃✨ How does it feel to set your eyes on the room of a functional, normal person instead of the monastic severity of a military-obsessed former assassin and the unholy ribald chaos of a human magpie?

This room was a bit interesting to help design, because I knew that it would be rather overgrown and natural and forest-like (that's canonical, Tallys is stated to have a room like a green witch's cottage), but in a way that also didn't come off as too messy--Tallys is naturally a neat and fairly organized, efficient, tasteful person, so hopefully this strikes the balance between natural and organic while still reflecting her neatness! For an Elf, she has rather simple, practical tastes--we didn't go as ornate, extravagant, and perfectionistic for her decorations as those of as old-school characters like Denan or Ashaniel. She still recognizes that these are military barracks, and she was never one to obsessively collect pieces of art or intricate, painstaking decorations like some of her Elven peers. But she did want to feel at home, even in the urban crush of the city--hence why she encouraged so much plant life and vinery to grow all around her room! She finds it soothing!

Other points of interest: the circular rug is where she conducts her meditation and dawn prayers, as well as hosts guests. She has an herbalist's station and many shelves of medicines, plants, herbs, other foraged ingredients to make salves, elixirs, and other balms for her everyday life as well as her work in the field, and a separate station for maintaining her archery equipment. All of this has to be kept separate from her sleeping area according to Elven design principles, collectively referred to as elarim'ven, which you can think of as Elven feng shui. She doesn't really care about the nitty-gritty of it, but that one she does obey. Many of her bookshelves hold old tomes as well as traditional Elven scrolls. And if you're wondering why her chair for her writing desk is set off to the side--Tallys reads and answers her mail while stretching or standing up to keep herself limber! She's a multi-tasker who will probably go on to invent Blest's first standing desk someday...
