The moment George sent Horvath and the female magician flying, he cast the Summoning Charm.
The Matryoshka doll containing Morgana and Veronica's seal veered in midair and flew straight into George's hand, after which he tossed it into his personal storage space.
Mind control? A joke! His Occlumency and mental defenses weren't just for show.
He hadn't been controlled by the female magician at all—he had been feigning it to lull Horvath into letting his guard down.
A millennium-old magician like Horvath was a master of survival tactics. Without trickery, it would've been nearly impossible to ambush him and retrieve the Matryoshka doll.
"Take this! Panda Slam Technique!"
Having secured the doll, George leaped high into the air. His round, plump body slammed down onto the fiery dragon breathing flames at them.
With his hefty panda paws, he began smacking the back of the dragon's head in a series of rapid left-right swings.
"And now for my Dragon Slayer Panda Palm! Just this once, I'll channel the Kung Fu Panda inside me!"
Caught off guard, the fiery dragon collapsed to the ground, its flame bursts turning erratic.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Balthazar unleashed another plasma spell. As the male magician controlling the dragon turned to retaliate, Balthazar struck him squarely in the stomach, leaving a gaping hole.
With the male magician defeated, the fiery dragon dissipated instantly.
Now, the confrontation had become a two-on-two faceoff.
"Consider yourselves lucky this time. We're retreating!"
Horvath, blood trickling from his mouth, rose unsteadily. Seeing his comrade dead and the battle turning against them, he decided to flee with the female magician.
Moments ago, he hadn't been able to dodge George's attack in time, taking a direct hit. Were it not for the resilience cultivated through years of meditation, that blow might've ended him outright.
"Leave them alive, and they'll only come back for the doll later," George said, his voice laced with urgency as he communicated telepathically with Balthazar.
"If you can't bring yourself to kill them, at least seal them again!"
Balthazar hesitated. He and Horvath had once been close friends—brothers-in-arms under Merlin's tutelage—until their shared love for Veronica drove a wedge between them.
Balthazar couldn't let go of the past so easily.
"Alright, let's chase them!"
Turning toward David on the rooftop, Balthazar shouted, "Stay here and wait for us!"
With that, he and George took off after Horvath and the female magician.
The commotion had already drawn the attention of Chinatown's security detail. Police cars, responding to reports, approached the scene with sirens blaring.
Horvath wasted no time. He used magic to fling the officers away, commandeering a police car. With a wave of his wand, he transformed the vehicle into a sleek sports car and had the female magician drive while he handled magical defenses.
Balthazar followed suit, transforming another police car into a sports car to give chase.
George, being a panda, couldn't fit into a car—even at his normal size—so he took to the skies, his wings spreading as he flew overhead.
"Think you can outrun me?"
Below, the two transformed cars sped through the streets in a magical version of Fast & Furious.
George, however, had the advantage of aerial mobility. He launched spell after spell at Horvath's car, forcing the latter to deploy a mist-like magical barrier that obscured his position.
"Fog Bomb, huh?" George muttered, narrowing his eyes. The dense, fast-moving mist made aiming nearly impossible, but it didn't deter him from continuing the pursuit.
Horvath's mist eventually came to a halt, signaling that the car had stopped.
"Whirlwind Burst!"
Hovering above, George cast a spell that dissipated the fog in a swirling gust. But what appeared before him wasn't a sports car anymore—it was a tank.
"You've got to be kidding me!" George exclaimed, momentarily stunned. Transforming a police car into a tank was a whole new level of magical absurdity.
"Boom!"
A cannon blast roared from the tank. Anticipating that his Shield Charm might not hold, George immediately cast a light-based defensive spell.
"Divine Triad Shield!"
Three radiant energy pillars materialized, enveloping George in a protective barrier of pure white light.
This advanced light magic, which he had recently learned from Makarov, far surpassed ordinary defensive spells. Although maintaining it consumed a significant amount of magic, George's reserves were more than sufficient.
The cannon shell exploded harmlessly against the barrier, leaving it unshaken.
"Did I just see... an angelic panda?"
Nearby civilians stared in awe at the glowing, winged panda hovering above.
Some devout individuals even dropped to their knees, praying fervently to what they believed was a celestial being.
Meanwhile, Balthazar was also on the move. He charged the tank, his hand glowing with magic. With a touch, he disassembled the entire vehicle into a flurry of flower petals.
Then, extending his other hand, he conjured an invisible force to seize Horvath.
Realizing the imminent danger, Horvath grabbed the female magician and used her as a shield. He then transformed into a swarm of cockroaches, scuttling toward a nearby sewer entrance.
But George descended from the sky like a thunderbolt.
"Full Body Bind!"
The swarm of cockroaches froze in place.
This was a spell George had learned from Hermione specifically for dealing with small creatures.
"Horvath, you've used this cockroach trick one too many times," George muttered with a smirk. "I'd say it's about time we put an end to it."
True to his nature as a magician, George knew the value of mastering a diverse array of spells. Versatility, after all, was the key to victory.
