Amazon Launch!
Hey everyone!
Just a quick post for today's launch. Book one is officially out in eBook, Audiobook, and Paperback on Amazon!
Break Update!
Hey everyone!
Thank you all for being patient with me on this somewhat open-ended break. I'm here to give a vague timeline as a heads-up!
Book four is pretty much done being plotted, and I'm going to dive back into writing this week! I want to get a healthy backlog again before I start posting. That means I'll likely begin posting in early to mid-January.
This is still just an estimate, and once I see how writing goes, especially over the break, I'll give a firmer date.

Spell Weaver is on GoodReads!
For those of you who don't know, GoodReads is a site specifically used to review and rate books. It's connected to Amazon, and a ton of people use it to decide whether they're going to read a book.
It looks like a few people have already rated or reviewed. If you're willing to take the tim...

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a good Sunday!
Just wanted to let you know that I'm pausing the Patreon today for the upcoming break. My recommendation would be not to cancel Patreon during the break! With it paused, no one will be charged, so you'll retain your membership as long as you don't cancel.
As far as I'm aware, new Patrons can join, but they will still pay the membership fee. It's the recurring charges that are paused during a break.
I hope to still give some up...

Alex lay back on the ground, his chest heaving.
Mage’s face popped into his vision, standing over him. His clone smiled down at him and said, “What’s with that goofy grin?”
“Shut up.” He kicked out his foot, hitting Mage’s shin. The clone didn’t react, only raising an eyebrow. “You know why. This is huge. Fuck— huge is an understatement.”
“I know,” Mage let out a breath and sat down next to him. “This is going to be a problem, too, though.”

Alex sat in the small clearing, legs crossed and eyes closed. The sounds of quiet chatter and cracking fires drifted through the early evening air.
One clone sat in silence nearby, watching his back. Luis had joined the clone after they’d been separated from the group for some time. The quiet duelist didn’t seem bothered by the long silence and Alex’s total focus on his project.
[Mana Infusion] worked at its maximum output. He pushed mana into the ritual beneath him as quick...

Gravity returned to Alex as he settled on the ground. He’d been excited to step from the Rift and back into the real world. Eager for the fresh air of his home world and a short break from the constant eyes on him in their travel across the Rift lands.
He’d also been eager to get back on the road, assuming it would be an easy time for him to resume focus on his testing. With the huge leap in Intellect, his spells should be stronger, and if Maelis’s was right, he should more easily...

A mental prodding pulled him from his sleep, pulling both eyes open. While his second mind wasn’t able to see around the room, memories of sounds and smells came back to him in an instant, and he knew that Aisha and Robert had come down the hall and were attempting to talk quietly just outside of the large room before waking him.
He pushed the furs off himself and stood, still dressed from the night before. The air around him moved as he stood, wafting the stench of sweat and blood to...

Alex adjusted his grip on the small bar of chalk in his hand. The powdery residue it left on his fingers reminded him of his first few months as an awakened.
In his crouch, he leaned forward to brace with his left hand while completing the last strokes of the ritual circle. The body tempering ritual that Eura had left for him was almost ready to begin. He still needed to place the reagents into the proper places, along with the mana stones required to power the ritual.
“How long...

Alex’s perception of the world around him shifted as he held the Cadence Stone aloft.
The crowd lining the arena cheered and chanted so loudly that the very air around him shimmered. Fascinated, he focused on the distortion, beating in time to the stomping of human feet at the beating of Koru’qai chests.
He realized then that whatever effect the stone had naturally was melding with his own naturally ability to see ambient mana. Nausea threatened to overtake him as he watched t...

I had a lot of fun writing this one.
Would love to know what you guys think of the chapter! Leave me a comment!
Hope you have a great Friday.

Kinley’s presence loomed before him.
“Finally. Some kind of reaction from you,” Alex said calmly, standing up to a more relaxed stance.

Dust and mana settled in the center of the arena and revealed itself to be the least chaotic section of the crumbled stadium.
Alex’s mind catalogued his surroundings, multiple minds working in concert as he descended into the stands. [Feather Step] carried him lightly to solid ground, though he kept the movements short, unwilling to be stuck in a set trajectory with Kinley’s ability to hurl stone walls.
To his right, where the VIP section of the arena stood, Alex saw several m...

“I’ll be in the middle of the front section,” Alex said. “I’ll need you guys to stay close and guard me as much as you can. Doing this the entire way is going to take all of my focus. If I let it go, there’s a chance that it unravels and the net mends itself back up.”
“Then we’re stranded in the middle of the city with the Koru powerless again,” Robert pointed out.
Alex didn’t say anything, just continuing to fill Maelis’s amulet with mana while siphoning m...

The group slowly made their way back to the hollow vein. Most of them were limping or wincing along the way to minor wounds, with Alex using his last healing potion on Robert, Aisha, and another man who’d been badly injured.
No one spoke on the way back. Something felt eerie about walking with the Koru’qai that they’d rescued. It wasn’t until Robert began speaking with one of them in soft tones that he realized it was because none of them were humming or making any sort of noise...

Hey guys, I'm going to be sending this out to all Patrons and will make a post on RR on Friday.
We're about 12 chapters out from finishing Book 3, which means one month away!
This post is to announce that I will be taking a writing break at the end of this book. I'm not sure how long the break will be, but I can assure you that it's only a break!
I need a bit of time to recharge my batteries and not be focused on writing or putting out more chapters each w...

Alex followed close behind the group as they ran, feeling his connection with Mage grow closer and getting a grim update of their situation.
“I’m out of mana, and they’re pushing us further and further into the tunnels. I don’t know the way well enough to even tell where we’re going.”
I can still feel the link’s direction, so just focus on trying to keep them alive.
“They’re finally starting to fight back,” Mage said. “We...

Robert stared at Alex with wide eyes and a question written on his face. Rather than asking the obvious question of how he knew that specific information, he moved into action.
He called Luis over and gave quick instructions. “Grab Dustin, Eric, and Elyse. You and Droq’shan start guiding this group back to the hollow vein. We can’t stay in one place, and being this close to the gallery is a problem.”
Luis’s quiet demeanor turned serious, moving to obey the orders.

I can’t believe it works.
Alex walked with the small group away from the cavern while allowing the threads of mana to spin over his hand. He wove them into his newly created control node over and over; the small disc-like shape answered so many of his struggles with his magic.
“Hey, here he comes. If you want to ask him now, it’s probably the best time.” Warrior pushed the thoughts to him from where he was at the back of the group.

Alex sat on a small cushion, only half watching as Warrior sparred with Robert. Legs crossed, he watched as his clone swayed to the right, shoulders rolling with the Willow Branch Sways. Robert’s heavy blow passed less than an inch from his chest, though even as Warrior prepared to strike back, Alex could tell he was losing the exchange.
Aisha and Luis sat near Alex, watching with their full focus on the training.
Warrior’s palm was midway through the strike to connect with Ro...
