Hi Folks,
In this video we will discover what huge impact a well designed show-base can have on a model.
Bases are an often neglected topic in the miniature world, which is actual kind of sad because a well executed base can define the universe/world your model exists in.
It manifests the actual situation the figure is being portrait in, and it can be the key to transmit a believable Character.
In this Video we will speak about composition and some ideas behind the creation of a base that helps to tell a story.
We will flip true some options... wether a hot steaming jungle

or a cold winter war wonderland ..

.... or .. maybe something that contrast even a bit more...
How about something peaceful to contrast with the roaring little war-best of a tank...
How about something, calm and lush? How about the shire?
will this be the right scenario to display or tank in?

While the first two options a rather common in the world of scale modelling and miniature models.
I am pretty sure we have all seen plenty of Vietnam war dioramas or some kind of cold Winter WW II diorama, so I think there is a huge potential to create something that pops out of the mass by choosing a topic that might not fit at first glance.
I also like the idea of having that visual clash of the peaceful nature and the dreadful (maybe more small but dangerous :D ) machine of war.
I like to have the idea transported that the war invades an everyday situation..
and the footprints of the tank tracks are almost something like scars that rip the ground open.
We will see how far we can work in more and more details a long the way so we create
a piece that is packed with storytelling details.

thanks for your support!
