COMIC: Who Knew It Could Be Like This? by Hien Pham

Who Knew It Could Be Like This? by Hien Pham

Hien Pham drew a cute mini-comic to confess his mega crush on Jacob... and is devastated when his feelings weren't returned. In spite of it, their friendship thrived! Now they share the physical connection Hien craved even if it's not in a romantic relationship.

COMIC: Who Knew It Could Be Like This? by Hien Pham

Thank you Bailey! It's a weird thing and there's never one clear answer to it! I'm lucky to have a community with the Bears who are usually more physically affectionate right up-front. Still, it's a different process each time so it's hard to distill my experiences into precise suggestions (maybe worth investigating for a future comic haha), plus I don't want to give unsolicited advice anyway! In any case, thank you for reading and I hope the comic can inspire you to give talking about this stuff a shot with friends! Sending it to them could be a cool ice breaker 👀...

Thanks as always Amyphist! I remember years ago reading profusely about the concept of "queer platonics" and wracking my brain so hard but could never quite understand it, haha! The journey to figuring it out has been rife with heartbreaks but a lot of joy as well. I'm very fortunate to have friends like Jacob who've helped me learn the ropes for sure.

Aww, love this one. One of the things I’ve learned from the queer community is that you can have friends who you are physical, even intimate, with, without being sexual or romantic partners.

As always, I love the delicate and thoughtful way this comic expresses its message 🥹 I often find myself wishing I could understand how to be a little more physically (though not necessarily sexually) intimate with friends without crossing a boundary I am not comfortable with.
