Hey everyone,

As holidays are going on here for the next three weeks and my wife is at working, so I have the kids, I don't much time to make talkies. Instead I focus on music composition and a still secret long-term project. Here is a piece I made for the joy of exploring an instrument.

When I first played the Ciat-Lonbarde Tetrax I was underwhelmed - I did not much like its square-wavey tone, preferring the more lush Sidrax. But I was wrong. I did not realize how many colors are in this small and lovely instrument, it has an almost orchestral tone to it. So I immediately decided to write this piece to explore it. I started by tracking two layers of Tetrax through Polyeffects Beebo on the Fostex X28H four track. For acoustic body I used my "Pool of the Black Star" impulses (see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDjaSMgp9_w) that now come with the latest firmware of this modular in a box. I then added a piano loop on a dictaphone. In the performance I play Tetrax and dub four-track loops in an out. Alesis Wedge adds the background space, so there are two layers of depth to the track - front and center. I left it rather dynamic, thinking more of an orchestral space than an ambient one.
