Time to press Triangle and LOOT ! 😎

Yaba Oki (the suit guy) and Banda Sunato (the serial killer) symbolize Jabberwocky and Bandersnatch from Alice in Wonderland. The pronunciation of their names in Japanese are almost the same as how Japanese would pronounce Jabberwocky and Bandersnatch with a Japanese accent.

WHY

About that label on that tape, the translation is "Better ways to catch a rabbit instead of your hands" 😂

“Tenderize the meat” 😂😂😂

our guys did see fireworks. after they caused the car crash while they were running away into the building. one says "look, fireworks!" and it was odd because it was in the middle of the day. you should go back and watch that part. :)

Lindsay Wood

That trailer was amazing !!!!!

Chishiya is such an intriguing character and it doesn’t hurt that he’s extremely good looking either! 😆 I love the actor, Nijiro Murakami. But this series has such engaging characters that you (generally speaking) want to know more about. Like the King of Clubs, Kyuma. He had such charisma and I wanted to know more about him.

Raeven Rose

Yeah, I was talking about "Lost" as writers also used found footage (with scientist saying things and further confusing viewers lol) to bring more mystery to the plot. I liked the pacing of the episode, and I agree that Arisu and Usagi's relationship absolutely important in how much we invested in the story.

Dylan Hearts

Ugagi omg xddd It's Usagi Answer xdddd

The heart game is one of my fav Omg I love this episode! Your reaction so fun as always.

Good to know 👍🏻 I didn’t read the manga but have read a lot of comments from people who’ve read it sharing their insights about the games, the characters and the original stories etc. As someone who didn’t know much about the original source when I first watched the show, I think the show did pretty well with its games, character building and storytelling. But I definitely understand it might be a mixed bag comparing to the manga.

WHY

What if the king of spades is Usagi’s dad? 👀

Steven K

Great reaction guys! I knew the jump scare with the found footage was coming but I still jumped when you all did haha. Can't wait for next week! Yay! Aguni is back! lol I love that guy. I am excited for you all to witness the last half of the show. We are in the land of cliffhangers but the payoff is so sweet to me.

Wonderxfull

Theres definitely stuff I'm glad they left out. Like some extended back stories for a couple of characters we met this season. Can't say who as it connects to other things. You may know what I'm referencing tho.

Donna Castellano

Well they kind of explained why they’re keeping that look of him in the previous episode when Banda went up to that guy and said he’s someone who hide his feelings behind the bangs (can’t remember the exact words now) and in that way shows his character. Can’t always compare it to the manga when things are adapted but the show does provide some kind of explanations for certain scenes/the characters in its own way.

WHY

They've completely cut one of the major characters, a 15 year old high school kid, Hayato Dodo. They give his character stuff to Arisu this season. Some of the games we've seen play out differently. I mentioned Solitary Confinement, but the bus in the tunnel game was confusing because they didn't explain the dealers properly. And why they were so excited to see players killing one another. Their fates were directly tied to the outcomes of the games. There's a lot of details as to why the two girls did what they did at the Beach. As to the Jack - he didn't have to worry about someone telling him the correct symbol on his collar because he had a fake eye connected to it. Whenever the symbols changed, he took out his eye and could see what symbol was on his collar. That's why his hair covered one eye - to hide the fact he had a fake one. Since they had him secretly exchanging symbol info with the woman in the show, they left out the fake electronic eye bit. So it honestly makes no sense to give the actor that terrible wig to make him look like the manga version of the Jack.

Donna Castellano

While episodes 3&8 are my favourite episodes of s1 of the show, I’ve got to say I have so many favourite episodes from s2 of the show. They’re on par with some of the best episodes from s1 or even better. Really looking forward to seeing your reactions to the coming episodes🔥

WHY

I got so excited to see you guys’ reaction to the conclusion of the Jack of Hearts game. It has got some of the best lines of the show (like how it describes the serial killers and psychopaths as only having a theoretical understanding of others’ feelings) and also brings out some of the important themes: trust and equality. I also like how they use the film/footage (instead of showing us directly the scene) to tell us where Ann is about, what kind of world they’re in, and throw in little bits of hints (though not hints) of how they get to this world. It’s a great change of pace and presentation, making things more mysterious and subtle than direct story telling. I’m with Oak there. I like how in season 2 they always split “one episode/game” into two episodes and make the first half of an episode a continuation of the previous one, and the second half leading into the next episode. It makes the story flows better and also gives you more excitement with the cliffhangers.

WHY

Oops, thanks for the clarification. I never watched the tv show “Lost” so didn’t know Dylan was referring to the tv show 😅

WHY

Now that we have the Aguni reveal, I guess it makes sense that he is alive. Other than being in a rage, he wasn't hurt at the end of s1. And all we saw was him grabbing Niragi and running through the flames and just assumed he was killing them both. But you just see Aguni running away from the crowd through fire, not towards the fire pit. So I can buy HIM surviving. I just cannot figure out how Niragi survived being burned and falling off the roof. Clearly he is dying since in the first game, we see him coughing up blood. I will say, once we got Niragi in s2, I kept HOPING we had Aguni back because if beef jerky boy survived, surly he would've. This is why, if I can help it, I don't read books (or manga in this case) before a show so I can truly be surprised. Personally, I hated the found footage because since we meet them/get to the event, it felt like it just ate up the episode for no reason. We didn't get answers and they could've just had us meet up with Anne and gotten the "time moves differently" speech in person. I miss Anne lol. The footage wasn't anything new unlike s1 where it revealed the game runners, location, etc. That worked. This felt like dragging out the show. Now that I'm on probably my 10th rewatch of the show, probably higher, I now notice all the extraneous stuff that took away from the plot/robbed us of more games.

Megan

I think they were saying it had similar vibes to the tv show "Lost." I fell off the show by s2 but most of what I watched (and complaints about the show as a whole) was getting close to answers an zero payouts. And like the found footage montage of this episode, we got close to the fireworks answer and the woman was killed.

Megan

Why did he have the hair that he did? I know manga readers have mentioned that the show overlooked better games (as well as gave the mains games that were side character games). I forget now, but after the believed ending of the show, people mentioned games they wish made it in the show. So I'm wondering now that we are getting a s3, if those games will be included with whatever story they are creating for the final season.

Megan

The prison game played out different in the Manga as Chisiya wasn't a part of it. And they didn't include the actual reason why the Jack had the My Chemical Romance hairdo he did. Rewatching it it seems they completely cut that reason from the show, so I don't know why they went out of their way to make the actor look exactly like the manga counterpart.

Donna Castellano

I agree with what you said about the games, the characters building and the characters being more relatable. In addition to Arisu’s own growth, his relationship with Usagi and how they support each other in this mad world and (without spoiling the details) help each other find their purpose of living and meaning of life is another key thing that carries the story. But then I actually don’t think this episode lost its vibes with the found footage style. I actually really like how they use the footage to indirectly tell us where Ann’s about, what kind of world it is, and give us a teaser of the firework and little bit of hints (though not really hints) on how they get to this world in the second half of the episode. It’s a change of pace of the show with a different way to move the plot and tell its story.

WHY

This episode had LOST vibes with "found footage" style and extremely vague hints at truth lol I often compare this series with Squid Game (cause how you can avoid the comparisons when both shows about random people competing in death games), and AIB is so much more compelling due to its character building. Arisu's growth is fascinating to witness, he's more than just a writer's tool to move the overall plot; in the beginning he was some big stereotype about infantile younger son/brother who wastes his best years on playing videogames, and look at him now when he has so many realisations about life in general, about what drives him to live day after day, to fight, to clinge to hope, to interact with another human being with decency despite going through a lot of cruelty and violence. Don't get me wrong, the games featured in the series also impressive (again, way more creative than in Squid Game - it goes longer and presents better physical, rational, social aspects of human interactions), but ultimately it's the characters which colorful and unique look at life that makes you invest in the story with undivided attention. I also appreciate that the show gives proper time for characters to process their feelings, especially Arisu's grief (those scenes with his friends every time make me to feel bittersweet vibes - they're gone forever, but at the same time they were great friends and Arisu continues to survive in this mad world because they gave him moral strength, to differ right from wrong in this immoral universe where selfishness is a main drive for many players). I can talk for days about Arisu, Usagi, Chishiya and other characters, there's a LOT to unpack and discuss with each of them. Truly incredible show, and, as always, another great reaction video from BM, thank you! P.S. I'm not trying to bash Squid Game into grounds (lol), it has its own unique advantages and both seasons had stellar cast; I just relate to characters in AIB on a deeper level.

Dylan Hearts

Y'all are NOT ready for that season finale🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Michael Aldana

Reminder that Niragi is all burnt up because Chishiya lit him up with a flame thrower, not because of the Beach burning. Also our boys did see the fireworks, when they were running after they caused the car crash, Chota turned back and said "Look, fireworks!" So excited for the next few episodes guys! It only gets better

Netflix dropped their 2025 trailer a few days ago and this year's gonna be wild ! Stranger thing 5, Alice in Borderland 3, Squid Game 3, etc.

Not sure if you guys know this already, but Kento Yamazaki (Arisu) also plays L in the 2015 live action Death Note drama! I remember episode 1 of this season you guys commented on him sitting like L when he was gaming 😂 both aspergers-coded geniuses with terrible posture, Kento did them justice
