2025-01-13 01:24:47 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, Usagi's draw to stay is because in Borderland she has a very present reason to live--reduced to base survival instincts--whereas back in the real world, she has nothing to live for and nothing is triggering that base instinct there. As Oak said, technically Borderland isn't less painful, but she has purpose. I justify the survival of Niragi (to myself, lol) as: Niragi is a 'mythical' creature, either the JubJub Bird or Bandersnatch (i can't remember which) from the Jabberwocky poem: “Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!” As such, as unrealistic as it is (and very annoying), he persists because of his role as a representation of evil --which was the purpose of these 3 beasts in Carol's poem. There may be a more official reason (from the creator of Borderland), but I've not heard it so this is my reasoning.

So you're not wrong! I'm so excited for this season! I still don't know how Niragi (burn dude) is still alive. He was set on fire then pushed off a building. Then Aguni carried him into the flames. Literally how did he survive, especially in a world with zero medical help?

Especially glad that Answer pointed out that the show is showing the mundane things that we don’t normally notice in our daily life but are certainly precious yet missing in the world that they’re in. Also love that Oak pointed out the contrasts of those characters: the girl having enough with this world doubting the purpose of fighting vs. Usagi not wanting to go back to the original world doubting the purpose of living in the original world.
