You can't be a "main" antagonist if you're irrelevant to most things occuring. He is secondary at best. Gabi has been 10x more relevant than him, and has had a competitive amount of screentime compared to him DESPITE being introduced so late. Your argument is working against u there lol. You can like Floch and still recognize some basic facts but you do you my friend.

2024-10-30 22:48:11 +0000 UTCyou guys mentioned at the end to let you guys know if you missed anything throughout the show, and let me tell you, yes. so much was missed. there was a lot of evidence of the outside world sprinkled in season 1 and especially in season 2. theyre real "blink and you miss" it moments where it's not just visuals, but lines said by main characters. some things i did not pick up on or notice after 2 or 3 times rewatching. by far, one of my favorite things you guys missed is back in season 2. Ymir and Eren are captured by reiner and bertholdt, and ymir asked "whats with the monkey" and eren is confused. The island of paradis does not have monkeys at all so eren could not know about them, yet how do ymir and the rest know? Throwaway lines like those give a lot of meaning later on.

AND PLEASE eventually rewatch the openings and endings WITH SUBTITLES. You will catch some hints that were given + the feelings of the characters, especially UNDER THE TREE (Mikasa's POV), THE RUMBLING (Eren's POV), AKUMA NO KO (Eren's POV), ITTERASHAI (Mikasa's POV) and I know you did not vibe much with it but RED SWAN (Eren, Armin and Mikasa POV). Also, if you can react to the ATTACK ON TITAN SUITE BY HIROYUKI SAWANO (the mastermind behind all the music in the anime), that would be AWESOME! Love you guys, keep up the great work!

2024-10-29 07:14:49 +0000 UTCThe main reason behind Magath's reaction wasn't just because he felt bad about Gabi getting kicked or that she saw what he was doing to Yelena. He made that face at that moment because he felt downright ashamed. The night before he saw two children putting the feud aside, humbly bowing their heads down and asking the enemy for help for the sake of the greater good while he a grown adult man, was picking a petty fight with Jean over history none of them were even there to see just minutes before. He felt shame for not doing what he, as an adult, should have done which in Sasha’s father’s words is to ‘lead the children out of the forest’, not provoke more conflict that only drags them further into it. This was also represented very well in the brawl by the campfire. Because of the fruitless blame game Magath started, Jean raised fists against Reiner and in his blind rage, unintentionally struck Gabi as a result. Because of one man’s immaturity and inability to set aside his prejudice and sense of grudge, once again, a child becomes collateral damage to the violence between adults and Magath had a moment of clarity when he realized that. It’s by no accident or coincidence that this scene took place right in the middle of the deep forest.

You really do your best to actually understand the show and decontruct the messages, which I really love and appreciate. One suggestion I have, is for you all to sit down and watch the opening and endings of this season (Rumbling and Akuma no Ko) with English subtitles. I know that Rumbling is in English, but it can be hard to catch the lyrics without subtitles. The reason I suggest this, is because at this point in the series especially, these two songs are designed to give the viewers a view of Eren's psyche at this point since the story is not really centered on him or what he's thinking during this part. The show was designed this way on purpose, so I don't consider anything to be a spoiler, it's how it was meant to be watched. There are no actual spoilers. He’s literally the person that set up the yaegerists and the guy who brought eren and zeke together. He is introduced in episode 48 and considering aot has approx 90 episodes he arrives halfway through the story. Also characters like gabi and falco are introduced later than him so your logic makes no sense.

2024-10-28 21:07:02 +0000 UTCOne detail that is really easy to miss since it is such a minor part you only really notice it on a rewatch- Daz, the guy on the explosives who gets shot first is a recurring minor role going back to season 1. He was one of the guys panicking about the titans during the episodes where Eren, Mikasa and Armin were being cornerned by the army and Eren stops the cannonball shot with his arm. Another appearance he made in Season 2 was during Historia and Ymir's flashback on mountain in the Blizzard, he was the guy who was injured who they were trying to drag down the mountain. He has other minor background appearances throughout the series, but those are the two main ones I recall.

It really shows how at the end of the day, there really is no winning because you end up sacrificing so much. These are people they trained, slept, and lived with for so many years and bonds that can't be replaced that end up breaking. All of it is just so heartbreaking.

After Bertholdt transforms into a titan next to the wall Eren and the others are on top of, the steam blows them all off the wall and Samuel starts falling while unconscious. Sasha saves him by shooting her ODM harpoon into his foot to stop him from falling. Check it out at 21:10 into the episode.
