Let’s talk about SmartSim! If you thought the public page had details, wait until you see the Download page. Here, I’m opening the book of modifications to explain everything this mod is doing behind the scenes!
Grab your cup of tea and let your browser read it to you!
-Skills System: A Touch of Authenticity
Imagine a neighborhood where every Sim is truly unique, their stories unfolding in a more realistic and memorable way. To bring this idea to life, I’ve slowed down the skill progression significantly. Gone are the days when Sims mastered everything in the blink of an eye! Now, only those who are genuinely dedicated to a skill will be able to specialize in it.
This change completely transforms the dynamics of your neighborhood. Each Sim will now possess talents more aligned with their personality, making them less generic and far more captivating. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to explore diverse gameplay styles, crafting rich and varied stories. After all, the magic lies in the details!
-Idle Manager: Bringing Mannerisms to Life
Have you ever noticed a Sim doing something seemingly random, yet it perfectly reflects who they are? That’s exactly the type of experience the new Idle Manager delivers. Previously, automatic Sim actions were driven almost entirely by basic needs. Now, a Sim’s personality takes center stage.
Their traits define their "mannerisms," those small actions and choices that add layers of realism and charm with their authenticity. Of course, emotions, needs, and buffs still play a role, but it’s the traits that steal the spotlight, breathing life into your Sims’ unique personalities.
-Relationship Manager: Bonds That Truly Matter
Sims’ relationships have also gained new depth. Say goodbye to instant friendships or exaggerated rivalries that pop up out of nowhere. Now, building a connection – whether it’s friendship, romance, or rivalry – will take more time, making every interaction more meaningful and memorable.
This creates a more satisfying sense of progress, aligned with the SmartSim philosophy. A simple handshake might be the start of a complex, rich story, while that grand love story will now take time and effort to blossom.
-Career Progression: A Touch of Challenge
Advancing at work has also been given a slight challenge boost. But don’t worry, it’s not impossible – just enough to make each promotion feel truly rewarding. If you’re hoping for more depth in this area, there might be some exciting surprises in the future… (a dedicated mod, perhaps?).
Details — Alright, you're probably still not satisfied and want to see specific numbers and details, right? Let’s dive into it because traits will have a significant impact on your Sims' progression! Traits now matter more than ever. Take a look:

I STRONGLY recommend pairing this mod with all my previously released mods, especially Classic Sims Revival, Social Consequences, Supreme AI, Coming Together, Get Out Project, Chaos Mod, and well... ALL OF THEM!
Together, they enhance one another, offering unique gameplay opportunities and making your game even more fun, chaotic, and one-of-a-kind! (And extremely challenging if you're a PRO, of course, 🤭)
