CONTENT WARNING: This story does feature a scene which is in some ways reminiscent of public shootings. Considering the world we live in, and the fact that some people tragically may have had real life experiences of that sort, I do want to just give a heads up about that.

I know I say this a lot, but I really do mean it when I say that I loved the idea for this commission. The idea was that a PMC would be sent in to save/extract someone from Stepford, only to have the tables turned on her, and I had a lot of freedom to play with that idea. The method of brainwashing is one I haven't touched on too often, but I like the idea of a sort of recursive simulation designed to break someone down over a period of time, and it's clear in the end that there's no escaping it for our protagonist.
