Point of View (Stepfordization)
Added 2022-12-07 13:00:05 +0000 UTCLike last time, this is less of a story about someone being transformed, and more of examining what life is like in the day to day for a woman who has already been Stepfordized.
This story, though, is directly from the POV of such a woman. I took some inspiration from the idea of Locked In Syndrome, where someone is fully aware, but has no ability to control their body. Essentially comatose, but fully awake. Only here, her body is acting and behaving just as a Stepford wife ought to, while she has to watch, a passenger in her own mind.
Hope you enjoy!

Thank you! I was worried that this one wasn't quite good enough to publish, but I'm really glad I was wrong!

I especially love how, despite Ruby’s best efforts, she’s slowly being ground down and the line between her thoughts and actions is fading (thinking the baby sounds to herself, turning up the radio so she can’t form thoughts) until soon enough she’ll just be 100% Stepford wife through and through
