Retro Futurism: The Museum

I really enjoy working from a simple premise for stories, and then expanding from there. In this case, that was just "what does a museum look like in the Retro Futurism setting?", and from there I thought about what sort of character might be most impacted by what they saw there, and then what sort of emotional transformation said character might undergo.
This story also gave me a chance to answer some questions I've gotten about the setting, like if men undergo Designations (although I may always end up navigating that issue more in the future). I also wanted to show a sort of dialogue on YKINMK (your kink is not my kink), and how different attitudes towards other things can evolve and become more understanding.

Thanks! Retro Futurism is definitely tricky to come up with stories for, yeah, unless I decide to play up the dystopian aspect, or go for emotional challenges like this one. Glad you liked it!

It seems kinda challenging to come up with story ideas for a utopian setting that lacks an inherent conflict like say your New Edict stories, but this story is a great example of still finding sources of tension and plot even without an over-arching conflict
