RogueLove 0.28.1 now Available!
Added 2025-07-01 09:07:58 +0000 UTCHey folks, this version of RogueLove is just a small update before the full release of 0.29 in early July. A few things got in the way of releasing the full version before the end of June, as I would have liked, but I'll be spending the first week or so of July finalizing the update.
This mid-version changes the way baths work in the game. Instead of using them instantly with no visual effects, the character will play a few new animations for jumping in the tub and bathing themselves. The player can mingle there as long as they want, and once they leave the tub the effects of the bath will be applied (instead of having them applied instantly upon use.)
I'm also testing out a new system for spawning boons into the world, these include things like Chests and Shrines (baths as well!) For now I'm testing this system on Chests, but I'll have it working for all boons in 0.29. This new system will scan tiles around the Player for free spaces before spawning a boon, disallowing them from spawning on something that already exists in the world.
When this system is finalized I'll have invisible blockers placed in spots that could stop the players progress, preventing chests and other boons from spawning there. These will include tiles that need to be stepped on to activate room features (rope bridges, etc) as well as openings to narrow passages.
