MGG 1.46b is now Available!!

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays everyone! The new version of MGG is here. This version is a bit on the lighter end, as I've been working on some stuff in the background as well as the usual Holiday busyness. I'll explain the new features I'm working on at the end of this post.

As far as this update is concerned, an entirely new area has been added to the Caves, along with a quest required to complete to access it. This area will contain two new mushrooms year-round, which appear in the Caves during different seasons. Thermashrooms can be used as mid-game fuel, while Frostcaps can be used as mid-game cooling. There's also 2 new food items being added to the jungle, Bananas and Cacao Beans which simply serve as food for now.

I've also added some new dialogue to two of the NPCs, which become accessible upon reaching certain Relationship levels. I've also added a new system which remembers items around the world that have been gathered already that day, and prevents them from spawning again until the next day.

There's also a bunch of spawn location fixes for the Expanded Island, and some other performance and bug fixes. The full changelog is linked at the very bottom of this post, as usual.

Now then, for the two features I'm working on in the background:

-A new terrain editing system.
This one is going to take some more time and little more experimenting.
I would like to eventually remove the Tile based system, especially because I've recently realized their drain on performance.
I'd like to replace them with one large mesh which the player can edit by moving vertices up and down, allowing for more dynamic looking gardens. This will also allow me to create a better Pen system which will not rely on the Tiles (this will also solve the pen crashing problems).
I've figured out a good way to do this, but unfortunately in UE4 there's no way to make a collision mesh which will align with the editable terrain, and we might have to move to UE5 before this can be accomplished (which I've wanted to do anyway.)
I'm hoping to have a rough preview of the system done before the next update.

I'm looking into hiring a modeler to create a better looking base model (for the females to begin with), with higher-quality rigging and textures. I'm also seeing if they can do some clothes as well.

Uploaded a hotfix for this version which will fix a couple issues that were reported in the new version. Items fixed have been added to the bottom of the changelog.
