The Old Sewers

Something strange is happening in the city – young nobles are running away from their familiar estates. What is stranger still is where they are running to – the sewers below the city.
A generation ago, a disaster struck the city, forcing the city to close off parts of the old sewers thought to be flooded with foul water. The only entrance to the sewerage is a locked drainage grating – rusted tight with torn clothes clinging to the bars. All of the “doors” in the sewers are, in fact, large drainage grating – some rusted close, others not.
The map of the Old Sewers covers the series of tunnels that are no longer flooded. The sewers have masonry ceilings, walls, and floors, littered with dozens of damp love letters from a “prince”. Over time, debris has gathered along the floor and is coated in a thin sheen of slime, which causes memory loss and hallucinations when touched.
At the heart of the tunnels is a decrepit cistern, and it is here the Frog Prince squats, surrounding itself with dozens of dazed lovers – the runaway gentry. While a significant number of the lovers are half-dead from malnutrition and obsession, they protect their “sweet prince” to the death.
