Hmm. Is it just me or does it seem like MD is in the Wrexham/Chester betting chatroom. Is Max Best knows best a very popular line, because the last place I read that was the chatroom. Might just be reading into it a bit.

2024-12-27 06:42:33 +0000 UTCMax has some accounting surprises in store. I know someone that keeps all receipts, balances double entry over several cost headings on his personal finances. You can take it too far, but Max barely takes the lid off. With all the fingers he has in pies, you'd think he would have an accountant, or at least a pie chart.

2024-12-20 17:05:22 +0000 UTCI'm in a Schrodinger situation on if the Author understands E= MC^2 or not. That equation is one of my pet peeves. That equation came from the 1945 republish of the paper written so that the average American could understand the partial differential series equation that got simplified into E=MC^2 after the nuclear bombs got dropped. It was a piece of pure political theatre gussied up as science. The assumptions necessary to make that equation true occur so infrequently that during any of our lifetimes I doubt that there would even be a single subatomic particle that meet those assumptions in our solar system. For those who are curious what a more accurate simplified version of that equation, is I'll include it here: ME = MI + E/(C-V)^2. In plain English the effective mass (ME) of a system is equal to the intrinsic mass(MI) of that system plus the energy(E) of that system divided by the square of the difference between the speed of light(C) and the velocity(V) of that system. In other words the more energy a system has the more mas it has, or the faster that system is going the more mass it has. E=MC^2 implies that the energy of a system is constant dependent upon mass when it is not. Except when there is no intrinsic mass which can only occur with the assumption that subatomic particles have no mass, which they do have. The equation explains nuclear reactions in a way the general public can feel like they understand, but is a complete lie. Yet it is a complete lie that we as a society agreed to pretend is true so that mass hysteria didn't break out. I suppose that I got so upset at this in the story, and the equation, because it is a dichotomous situation in that the equation was supposed to be about truth, and was instead a lie to hustle the general population, and I fear that by using this it is foreshadowing that MD is going to hustle Max Best and destroy his finances. I'm almost certainly seeing things that aren't there, but if it is this is some next level evil foreshadowing that will make me have a whole new reason to hate E=MC^2. As always this was a great chapter, even if it set off one of my myriad pet peeves.
