Next Chapter: Monday

Hi all,

Hate to do this but has to be done!

Because I went nuts on the last chapter (and then the Discord pointed out a big dumb mistake I spent Tuesday morning fixing...!) plus a bit of low-level sickness, some simply insane road resurfacing outside (it's December! Is it just me or is that bonkers? Also they keep finding burst pipes and have to dig up what they just put back. If they're doing it because they're paid by the day, hats off, seriously) - and blah blah blah.

But mostly it's because of the way I want to write the chapter. I think it's going to work but only if I have time to fail.

I will be on it all day tomorrow, of course, but I've done this before and it's going to be one of the ones I end up rewriting once I've got to the end. I'm pretty sure I could do it by Saturday but then that shifts the crisis to Monday and so on and so on. I'd rather THIS chapter is decent and the next one blows.

So, yeah. FORGIVE ME.

P.S. the dumb mistake involved the tension around Foquita. I hoped to prolong that a couple of chapters but I was reminded that F is on loan to Chester and the 1.5m release clause can't be activated until F actually joins. He could still join Bradford but only in the summer and that's not a major threat.

Anyway, if you don't want to re-read, in the new version Max panics but realises his mistake shortly after. He decides to encourage the fake tension because Peter is invested in it and that can only help Max sign him. If I'd known the chapter would end up that way I would have made it an Alien: Isolation theme because that game is what it's like to support a small team. Quick! Hide your best player under this medical table!

P.P.S. You're going to hate the next chapter title. You're going to think 'ugh I had to wait for THAT?!' Heh heh.
