The Masked Strength of the Sect's Trash chapter 98

Curious as always, Xiao Yi asked, "Master? Where?"

She looked in the same direction her two senior brothers had been watching, but saw nothing. The sky was growing darker, with only the dim twilight lingering, making it impossible to see anything clearly.

Neither Ji Yan nor Lu Shaoqing answered her question.

Ji Yan turned to Lu Shaoqing and asked, "What do you want? Speak."

Lu Shaoqing’s reply was direct and cold, "I want you to destroy Dianxing Sect."

Xiao Yi rolled her eyes. Her second senior brother’s stubbornness was unbelievable.

To Xiao Yi, what was the big deal about being targeted by a Nascent Soul cultivator? After all, Lingxiao Sect had seven Nascent Soul experts, including Ji Yan. Who would dare come here to mess with Lu Shaoqing?

Ji Yan shifted the topic slightly. "Now that I’ve helped you today, where’s my reward?"

Lu Shaoqing sneered. "You’ve got some nerve to ask for a reward. There isn’t one."

"No reward?" Ji Yan’s eyes closed again. "Fine then."

Lu Shaoqing snapped, "Do you really want it? Aren’t you embarrassed?"

"What’s there to be embarrassed about?"

Lu Shaoqing smirked. "Alright, I’ve got a piece of spirit armor for you. But I bet you won’t dare wear it."

Ji Yan opened his eyes, an air of arrogance in his voice. "There’s nothing I, Ji Yan, won’t dare to do."

With an unshakeable Dao heart, Ji Yan never backed down from any challenge, no matter how formidable.

"Is that so?" Lu Shaoqing’s smile turned sly. "Good, then wear this."

He pulled out a red piece of spirit armor that he had obtained from Xuan Yunxin and tossed it to Ji Yan. "Put it on and show me."

Xiao Yi facepalmed, already feeling embarrassed. Her second senior brother was so mischievous. A red piece of spirit armor—only female cultivators would wear that!

Ji Yan looked at Lu Shaoqing, who seemed delighted with his little scheme. "Go on, wear it. Didn’t you say there’s nothing you wouldn’t do? Don’t let your junior sister down."

Xiao Yi wanted to say something to rescue Ji Yan from this predicament, but before she could, Ji Yan simply put on the red armor.

As soon as he donned the crimson armor, Ji Yan’s demeanor changed. His usual aura, ethereal and otherworldly like that of an immortal, transformed into something more darkly alluring. The red armor, rather than looking out of place, added a sense of danger to his charm.

To Xiao Yi’s surprise, the red armor actually looked good on him, giving him a unique appeal.

Lu Shaoqing was also taken aback for a moment, then laughed while stroking his chin. "Not bad, not bad at all! You really do look good in red. From now on, you should always wear red."

"Even your underwear has to be red," he teased, taking out a recording stone to capture the moment. "Let’s keep this as a memory."

"Childish," Ji Yan scoffed. He then took off the red armor and tossed it to Xiao Yi. "Xiao Yi, your strength is lacking. You should use this."

Lu Shaoqing mocked, "Giving away my stuff just to win some points? Trying to be the good guy, huh?"

Ji Yan retorted, "Has Xiao Yi ever received anything from you since she joined the sect?"

Lu Shaoqing shot back, "Is my brotherly love not enough? What more could she ask for?"

Turning to Xiao Yi, he added, "You’re not dissatisfied with me, are you?"

Xiao Yi shook her head vigorously, her head bobbing like a drum. She knew better than to get involved when her two senior brothers were bickering. Trying to divert attention, she asked, "Second Senior Brother, why did you record Senior Brother’s appearance? What are you planning to do with it?"

Hearing this, Ji Yan shot a sideways glance at Lu Shaoqing.

Lu Shaoqing grinned mischievously. "Do you want it? I’ll sell it to you for 100,000 low-grade spirit stones."

Xiao Yi quickly shook her head. Why would she need it? She could see her senior brother anytime she wanted, and even if she sold herself, she wouldn’t be able to afford that many spirit stones.

An hour before they were due to arrive at Lingxiao City, both Lu Shaoqing and Ji Yan’s expressions suddenly changed. Without saying a word, Lu Shaoqing slipped into the cabin, while Ji Yan resumed meditating at the front of the ship, eyes locked on the horizon.

Xiao Yi was confused. "Senior Brother, what’s—"

Before she could finish, a shadow loomed overhead. Looking up, she was stunned. A massive ship had appeared beside them, easily ten times larger than their own, blocking out the sky. It exuded an oppressive aura, making its presence known as it soared through the air.

It was the biggest ship Xiao Yi had ever seen.

A voice bellowed from the ship, "Who’s the blind fool blocking our way? Trying to die?"

Xiao Yi’s temper flared. Who was this arrogant fool? Didn’t they know this was Lingxiao Sect’s territory? As Lu Shaoqing often said, "We fear nothing on our turf!"

Xiao Yi yelled back, "Who do you think you are, you clown? Do you not know whose land this is? Did you forget to bring your eyes with you? Keep barking, and I’ll beat your brains out!"

Ji Yan looked surprised. His seemingly gentle and quiet junior sister was quite fierce when it came to cursing. Was she learning from Lu Shaoqing?

Noticing Ji Yan’s gaze, Xiao Yi shrank a little. "Senior Brother, d-did I do something wrong?"

Ji Yan chuckled. "No, you did well."

Beaming at the praise, Xiao Yi straightened her back. "He was asking for it. So what if he has a big ship?"

Ji Yan asked, "Do you know whose ship that is?"

"Who?"

"Zhang Conglong's."

"What?" Xiao Yi froze. Had she just insulted Zhang Conglong? The second strongest cultivator in Qizhou, right behind Ji Yan? Zhang Conglong was at the ninth stage of Core Formation and was on the verge of entering Nascent Soul.

Recalling Zhang Conglong’s ruthless reputation, Xiao Yi felt a wave of panic.

"Senior Brother, d-did I cause trouble?"

Ji Yan was unfazed. "What trouble? Didn’t I say you did well?"

His calm reassured Xiao Yi. She remembered that both of her senior brothers were here. Why should she be afraid?

"Who the hell are you?" the voice from the large ship roared, its owner clearly enraged. "Do you know whose ship this is?"

Feeling bolder, Xiao Yi retorted, "Who cares? This is Lingxiao Sect’s territory. You’re not welcome here, you show-offs from Guiyuan Pavilion!"

Following Lu Shaoqing’s lead, she had picked up some colorful language.

"Very well. Tell me your name," the man barked. "Don’t think you’re safe just because this is Lingxiao Sect. I can still teach you a lesson."

"Then come over here!" Xiao Yi stood with her hands on her hips, yelling back. "If you don’t come over, stop barking like a dog!"

"Damn it…" The man’s aura surged, as if he were about to charge over.

Suddenly, the little red bird on Xiao Yi’s head flapped its wings and darted into the cabin. Before Xiao Yi could figure out what was happening, she felt a powerful aura emanating from the other ship.
