So this part is canon: in the basement of Newtopia Castle is an underground ecosystem/dungeon that holds a bunch of alien fauna stolen from conquered planets by King Andrias's family. Our girl Lady Olivia used to sneak down to the catacombs as a child because t'was forbidden and she was a little troll. Thereby when she and Yunan go skulking about in the catacombs later in the show, they don't get eaten by monsters.

Here's where Kae chimes in. King Andrias is no sane man but he's no dummy either, and he'd know if some spoiled kid was fucking around in his dungeon. Since he's fond of the girl, he not only permits it, but sometimes hangs out with her while she makes friends with the delightful poached denizens. Andy likes bringing despair to the worlds of the weak and wretched but he also likes being the fun uncle. Wake up the kitchen staff, we're gonna need tea and crumpets.

Andrias even publicly allows Olivia to keep Tiptoe. Because A) a proper lady needs a noble steed, and B) Tiptoe is useless.
