Kind of late but I'm just starting to get the hang of sweeps and I always thought the intro to Bleeding Mascara by Atreyu would be a good place to start because it's only a 3 note arpeggio in one position and some alternate picking and bends thrown in for good measure. It sounds pretty sick too and takes me back to highschool.

This was a really good one. Was always super weak at that. I'll give this a shot thx

I like to use the WW382 workout, affectionately known as "This Thing Sucks - I hate it" as a sweep exercise. Mainly because my hand brains can't get a handle on alternate picking it. It's only 3 note sweeps, so it's constant turnarounds and moves across all of the strings. Suck into it!

I need a sequenced hybrid arpeggio weekend wankshop in my life.....hint hint.

It just dawned on me I already use variation of the finger roll on the intro riff to Sweet Child O Mine. (14th frets on E and G). I might be playing it "wrong", but thats always been the easier way for me. 🤷‍♂️

You just make everything seem so easy! What kind of pick pressure are you using? Is it very soft or more like you’re pulling a hair out of your nose? I’m always curious about the signal routing. I think you said you were using a Fractal going into the ox? Then where does it go? You’re not using an amp? Forgive my lack of knowledge. Lastly; is that a tattoo that I’ve just missed in all your other videos? Can I be that unobservant?

Chuck Saeger

Great stuff Ben, thank you! I was wondering if you had any thoughts on sweeping with the neck vs the bridge pickup and what to consider and understand with that? The tone is obviously cleaner on the neck, but should that mean to only use it exclusively? Would love to know your thoughts.

Vincent

Sweet! Gotta save it for this weekend practice, thanks bro

Kahenui

Great video. Thank you for the inspiration on the sweep technique.
