Gracias tío Ben and salud desde España

Great video dude. That bridge riff really is such a mofo. And I’ve long maintained Vogg has the gnarliest right hand in the game. The effortless precision, attack, and tasteful fucking groove is just unmatched. It’s kinda really unbelievable he was 18 or so when they cut that first album. Bonkers. Thanks bud!!!

Vogg is such a monster. I'm super partial towards the more recent albums Anti-Cult and Cancer Culture. I tried learning Iconoclast recently. I was not prepared 😅

Always loved the crazy main riff, but looking at the online tabs get it wrong, too. I think the thing that makes the main riff sound like a complete blur/hard to discern in the track version is that it's not just sixteenth note triplets, it's a sixteenth note triplet (3 notes in the space of an eighth note) followed by a sixteenth note immediately afterwards. I'm looking at the tabs and none of them account for the additional sixteenth note (they'll have an eighth note rest instead of a 16th note and a 16th note rest, for example!). So everywhere you guys hear a triplet, add a sixteenth note at the end of that as well.

100% agreed. Operation Mindcrime is a goat record

Thanks Pam!

I have always thought that Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton of Queensryche were hideously underrated and under-appreciated. They’re not classical shredders but the depth of their compositions rival any other guitar duo.

I’ll have to check out some Vogg! Appreciate being turned on to players I haven’t heard! Two of my favorite guys that I don’t see much about are Charlie Griffiths and Richard Henshall from Haken. 8 string monsters!

LeftyZ

Ben, you gotta try Instinct from Blood Mantra. That riff, man.

Thanks Pam! Thanks Uncle Ben!
