Want more outta your DWEEZILTONICS?! Here’s a special bonus video, just for you all!

It’s rad applying these 5 and 7 note groupings to other subdivisions, like 16th notes! How many ways can you add these groups up to make a total of 16? There’s 5+5+5+1, 7+7+2, 5+7+4…. So many to get creative with! This bonus video will help you see how to make the magic happen. Enjoy!

Thanks for being a part of this awesome community!

G'day Ben I subscribed to you today and of course sign up to patreon but when I try to watch one of your lessons it says sign in to prove that I'm not a bot , sign in where?

Dweezil offered a master class before a Zappa Plays Zappa concert in Tucson abut 7(?) years ago. It was worth the price of admission just to shake his hand and hope a half dozen molecules of Zappa mojo might rub off on me. He impressed me as a personable hard working gentleman and it was an honor to meet him. He was emphasizing the 5-7 idea back then as well. People from the class were getting their guitars signed by him - I've never been into that but figured what the heck and had him autograph my 2007 vintage mahogany LP Studio - glad I did :)

Huge Zappa fan - his music, production, opinions, films... all.

Frank Zappa's music is the gift that keeps giving. Billy was a mountain, Call any vegetable, Willie the pimp, peaches en regalia, Big Swifty, Pajama People. It makes me happy knowing his genius is not lost on you Ben. Does Andy listen to zappa?

I like Frank's solo on Zomby Woof. Inca Roads is a great composition. Orange County Lumber Truck from Weasels Ripped My Flesh has a great melody. Peaches en Regalia I can never get tired of. Brown Shoes Don't Make It is a great arrangement with so many different parts.

Nice work and thank you! Man it is hysterical how many of us have that very same metronome. Think I've had mine since the.... 90s?

Yes, absolutely love some Frank Zappa. His Shut up and Play Your Guitar set of albums are some of my favorites. I was lucky enough to get to see him play live once in the early 80s, and it was an amazing show I remember to this day.

All this maths reminds me of the meshuggah video, the funniest video on the Internet. I watched a little live Zappa footage a while back to get acquainted with his work, he had a cigarette holder on his guitar which is the first and only time I saw that.

Video title makes me think of the Guthrie Govan songs off of Erotic Cakes.
