2024-03-15 12:20:30 +0000 UTCI like thinking of the Phrygian scale as starting on note 3 of the major scale, so the pattern is 34 5 6 71 2. That way I don’t have to memorize it as 1 b2 b3 4 5 b6 b7. Ick. Same fingerings and patterns you show here, just different mindset, less to memorize.

I could honestly see E Minor in my sleep and tell you what mode I’m in. BUT applying that freedom and creativity to other keys is where I SUCK. Help me Ben Kenobi. You’re my only hope.

I feel 3 notes per string is the best method, it encompasses most of the other techniques, and you can start it on any string. Thanks to the video you did about walking up a scale I like to pick a scale at random and do all the modes up and down the neck. That way you learn the relationship between the modes more better. Ok I guess I should try to do some work now...
