this was so good!

This is a great season opener, one of my favorite. So, dude says he's an angel, that's different. But hey, all these demons walking around why not. So Sammy's got his mojo working. That'll come in handy. Your eyes got big as saucers when Sam pulled the demon out of that girl. I have been waiting for that reaction and you didn't disappoint.

Doesn't coffee count? Lol

Michele

Another fun fact: The beginning of this episode is one of the very few times we see Dean drinking something non-alcoholic.

Adam

of course not. :) I would love it if reactors could react to multiple episodes of my favorite shows every week. :)

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

I know don't worry, if she could she probably would do it but don't mind hoping 😉

Anaïs

Well, I'm glad you weren't spoiled on this episode. There is so much hype over this season, and this episode, that people just can't seem to stop themselves from gushing about it and saying things that really shouldn't be talked about yet. And they don't even see that they're spoiling things. Anyway. Yes, Ruby is the same character you saw at the beginning, in Sam's hotel room. I guess they were just playing as just being a hook up. I was like you in being surprised that we didn't get anything of Dean's stint in Hell, and just jumped to him rising from the grave. Probably all sorts of reason's. I don't think there's any knowing at this point how much he remember's right now. Seems like he was having some flashbacks. Sammy using his powers is quite a big reveal in this episode. And he is worried about what Dean will think. My understanding of why Bobby and Dean don't like the idea of Sam using his powers is because of the connection to demon blood, and how the other's who had powers turned bad when they gave in to using them. I think Bobby and Dean are worried that there's something involved with the demon blood that will affect Sam if he uses it. And, yes, I'm sure there is also just their dislike of psychic stuff. But they know psychic people who are fine - like Missouri - and Pamela, from this episode. So, I'm thinking that it's more because of the demon connection and fear of what affect that will have on Sam. Yes, the actress playing Rudy is Jared's wife now. They met while filming this episode, and they fell in love fast. While filming the gas station scene, the director had real glass be used. So Jensen and his stunt double were actually rolling around in real shattered glass. They both got cut up a bit. You can see one of Jensen's wounds on his arm. It's still visible in episode 2. I loved seeing the reunion scenes between Dean, Bobby and Jared. Those are so sweet. I hope you continue to enjoy season 4. Be careful about spoilers. Please give your moderators time to check before you start reading. I know that's hard, but the next two season's are ripe with people leaving spoilers. Intentionally or not.

I'm fine with two episodes a week. I mean... I like this show for the most part, but you have to understand that Ky has other shows she's watching and reacting to on top of having a life outside of reacting to shows and movies, so it's important for us as her reactions' viewers to have patience and understanding.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

I agree. I don't think anything I said was too spoilery. I love some of this show's villains as much as I love the heroes, so my impressions could mean anything. And their refusal to talk to each other about their secrets isn't anything new either. Also... Sam storyline could be anything, so that's not giving up anything either. But we definitely do need to be careful about what we say. I agree with you about that.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

I think some comments we make now are sometimes colored by things that haven't happened yet, so we need to be careful about giving a leading impression about something that is yet to be discovered.

Michele

I think it's my favorite season premiere of all, I mean there are too many questions to be answered, so many storyline and secrets, we see that Sam isn't the type to think and held back now, more go head and see later. I hate when they keeping each other secrets, Dean who remember hell should of told to Sam and if he was afraid to talk about it then he could have just said it. Period. Well, not much a Ruby's fan so I didn't really care that she was back. I love Castiel entrance, the way he talk, he saw right through Dean's feelings who seems to shut Dean's mouth on the subject (Angel thing). But I always thought that "Because God commanded it" was too much. I can't wait to see the rest of the season. It would be so great if there were 3 episodes a week ... Just saying

Anaïs

Yes it does.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

Yep, they always do that, keeping secrets from each other but it's blowing up to their faces every time

Anaïs

Yes it is.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

OMG THATS HIS WIFE?

Fun Fact: The girl from the beginning, the one who was in Sams room. Ruby. The actress portraying her is named Genevieve Cortese, or since 2010, Genevieve Padalecki. Jared and Genevieve met on the set of Supernatural, started dating, got married in 2010, and has since got 3 kids.

Freya

This episode was all right overall, but I love, love, love Castiel. Just you wait. :) To be honest... I understand why Sam is so cold upon losing Dean for four months, but I don't really care much for where his storyline is going this season. And once again... Dean's refusal to talk to Sam about Hell and his nightmares, as well as Sam's secrets he hiding from Dean is driving me crazy.
