This is one of the reasons why I love show! Maia. She’s never afraid to stand up for what she believes in and is a much needed voice for the Downworld. I think the reason why she was able to fight Jace is 1) she is very passionate about the rights of Downworlders which added to her adrenaline in this moment and 2) because Jace truly knew what he was doing in this situation was wrong so he wasn’t going to put up much of a fight if he knew deep down he was in the wrong. The show gives Maia so much more depth than the books did, whether that be her relationship with Simon, Luke, Clary or even Izzy and Magnus. The choices that she makes in the show are all based on her strong belief system which makes her a very strong and amazing role model because she never backs down from doing what she think is right. Also in regards to Luke, he never wanted to be the Alpha in the first place and everyone in his pack knows this and it’s why they have such a problem with his leadership decisions at times. I never once felt any emotional connection to Maia in the books because even when they gave her a backstory, they contradicted everything about her strong character.

Kaylie (however it's spelled) was trying to start an uprising. Some of them blame Jace for what Valentine is actually responsible for, even though Jace believed at the time it would kill him he still did it. I have to say something about Maia....I love book Maia...this one not so much. The show writers do not show Jace as he is in the books Maia would never have been able to hit Jace, he is to fast and to strong (they tend to leave that part out) and as soon as Luke told her to stop...she would have. When you get further into it I will tell you another reason why book Maia is so much better.....lol. Thanks....this brightened my very snowy day!!!
