Take a closer look at the evolution of Arachna-Girl's suit designs! We're sharing the last two shots and an exclusive close-up of all three arms, showcasing the unique textures and details of each version.

This journey took three straight days on and off inside Substance Painter. We stuck to it no matter how challenging or frustrating it got. By the end, not only did our speed with the tools improve, but our understanding of the tools and the masking system really began to click.

Version Highlights:

Version 1: Classic design with sleek lines and smooth textures.

Version 2: Enhanced details with a modern twist and vibrant emissive trims.

Version 3: Inspired by Miles Morales, featuring hardened leather interiors, thickened rubber outer portions, hex bolt highlights, and hand-drawn hard surface bump mapping running down the legs into the shoes, seamlessly blending with their main fabric canvas and hardened toes on worn soles. Roughness cloud brush tricks added depth and character to the design.

In the end, while we are sure others can do far better, we here know our limits and how to flex and test them during the creation pipeline. This approach allows us to provide the best we can in each release while maintaining a timeline that helps offset the costs of a family-run startup studio like Dw3D.
