I'm going through the backlog of these now. One thing the convo about Jeanne reminded me of is Martha Rosler's video art installations in the 1970s about cooking (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDUDzSDA8q0). There's a similar contrast of normalcy and bizarre that I think would be up your alleys.
