2022-08-05 15:25:44 +0000 UTClol yeah i (josh) went back to civ 4 again to play a few rounds after recording this one. it's easy to build one cultural powerhouse city but much harder to get production up to a point where you can consistently build wonders across multiple cities. unless you have stone and marble, that is. what a dumb, unbalanced mechanic lmao

2022-08-03 15:59:27 +0000 UTCReally loved the flow of this, talking about the games mechanically, how a game progresses, and themes. Bang on the money about its positivist viewpoint. Because it was mentioned; there was a cultural victory in Civ 4, and all it entailed was getting 3 cities with Legendary Culture, just the highest tier of culture / border pop. Ultimately all you did as a result was turtle up in 3 of your early cities rushing production and try to crap out wonder after wonder.
