Sept. 2024 Progress Report!

The BDG business groundhog has come out of his den and is predicting one more month of Patreon pause! This is a reference to Groundhog Day. The holiday, not the movie. I'm not stuck in a time loop.

WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON ELSEWHERE?

Work! Karen and I started a new writing job this month, and on nights and weekends, I've been working on the videos!

Back at the start of this hiatus, I had hoped to be running the Patreon again in October. But it turns out that trying to work and rest requires more time than just work, so I'm not quite done with everything I had hoped to finish before coming back. Of the five videos I want to complete, these two are done:

And here's an estimated completion percentage on the videos I still want to complete:

• A Jaunty Quest - 80%

• Talking Small - 45%

• Don’t Say Séance - 10%

As it stands, I'm hoping to finish A Jaunty Quest in the next week and Talking Small by the end of October. The final video, Don’t Say Séance, might take a little longer, because it will be mostly animated. Since I'm working with animators for that one, I might finish up as much as I can do on it (re: finish the song, finish my filming) and then have that cooking in the background as I get back to Patreon in earnest in November.

I also got to go on vacation at the beginning of this month, so that was nice, too. Here's a picture of me eating breakfast with a Night Heron who sat with me all morning. He might have been there for my food, but I like to think he was there for my company:

SO NOVEMBER, YOU'LL BE BACK?

Yes! Unless something drastic happens, I'm planning to restart this Patreon in November! This means that billing will start up again in late October, and I'll start posting perks again (the BTS videos, audio/stems of the songs, etc.). I'll be catching up on the BTS clips of the videos I've posted during the hiatus, so it might take a little bit to get everything out, but I'd love to get all of those up by the end of the year at the latest!

I'll post something more in-depth about the hiatus/making this Patreon more sustainable for me when we come back in November, but for now, I'll just say that things aren't perfect, but I'm doing much better than I was at the start of this hiatus. Thanks again for your patience!
