I created a whole series this time—so satisfying! I hope everyone enjoyed it ❤️

Kou's story is something I came up with last year,

and it’s always felt like a super hot idea to me.

I’ve had so much fun coming up with all kinds of interesting settings!

To bring out the feeling of a series,

I already had some concepts in mind before starting the illustrations.

One of the key ideas was "expressing intimacy."

From the first image to the last, I tried to show a sense of the characters getting "closer and closer," not just emotionally, but also through the composition and camera distance.

(There’s also a little Easter egg: the dad only starts wearing a wedding ring from the third illustration on 😜)

Another concept was "vibrant color palettes."

I wanted the whole series to look exciting when displayed together,

so I intentionally varied the color tones between each piece.

(Personally, I really love the bluish vibes in the second one!)

I also used each piece to practice something specific:

- The first was for clothes and lighting

- The second for color

- The third for perspective (a bit of a fail lol)

- The fourth for shape and anatomy

- And the fifth, again, focused on lighting…

Although I originally wanted to paint everything without relying on layer modes…

that didn’t go so well (it's seriously hard!) 💦

But I did learn some useful tricks!

For example, using cool shadows overall but adding warmer tones in the shadows on skin makes the character pop more.

I also had a blast putting together the mock posts and story slides!

They helped present the timeline and strengthen the story aspect.

Plus, using the story format as a sort of "preview" made it easier to follow what’s happening in the plot.

Overall, I really enjoy this kind of info-rich presentation—it even lets me hide a few fun Easter eggs.

Especially when I was drawing that ID card… I had way too much fun with it 😳
