DevLog #13: May 2017

Hello!

I've been working on the initial underground area in Light Fairytale this past month too. Implementing new NPCs and events is taking a bit more time than expected. Though writing the dialogues and animating the characters is a lot of fun!

Here's some of the main characters and NPCs you'll encounter in this first part of the game:

Now, let's talk a bit about the current release plan!

Light Fairytale has been planned as an episodic game from the start, as it is way too ambitious for a solo indie developer to be released as a single, complete game.

The initial plan was 3 episodes, but I've recently decided to divide each one by 2, and go for 6 episodes. This will shorten the development time and allow to release the first episode much faster: Currently targeting Q4 2017 to Q1 2018.

With this new format, each episode will be around 3 hours of gameplay and priced $4.99. The time between the release of 2 episodes will also be considerably shorter: Around 6 months.

Last but not least, we are currently working on an original theme song with a vocalist for Light Fairytale! It will be used in an Anime sequence which will give a preview of what to come in the whole 6 episodes - characters, locations and events.
