They stand still in the choreo because the other dancers are forming a crown and breaking it apart so that ITZY can each take their share of the crown.

2025-11-12 19:14:51 +0000 UTCthis comeback is such a good listen. My interpretation is that the M/V is a representation of Plato's allegory of the cave. In Plato's allegory, prisoners(in this case, the shackles are societal conventions?) saw shadow plays on cave walls and understood it as reality(however distorted). The girls each created simulacra based on what the Sun should be: Chaeryeong used the sun-colored crystal as a lightbulb and arranged denim and wool to portray the bluesky of the afternoon, Yeji uses science/math to recreate what the sun should be from a quantitative point, Ryujin surrounds herself with LED monitors casting onto her plants photosynthesizing, Lia creates a mess of clothes that look like a sunset and covers herself up from the sunlight, and Yuna is constantly surrounded by people celebrating her birthday aka a full rotation of the Sun each year.

Itβs such a vibe (PS they have done one hand/half crown in past choreo for a few title tracks, but I like how they make it a bit more intentional, I think I like how they feel like theyβre getting energy from their dancers in the circle, like the stone power in the mv )
