Not sure if anyone mentioned this before, but in the manga, what Hinata actually says is "I want to beat you at your best" which just encapsulates who he is as a character.

2025-10-21 16:56:03 +0000 UTCKageyama😭 when this arc came out in the manga i had just turned older than him than when i first started the series and suddenly i was like NO THEYRE ALL CHILDREN DONT BE MEAN THEYRE SO YOUNG 😭 it was odd starting the series the same age but getting older and the further I got from their age I kept getting more concerned lol they’re 15/16 year old BABIES, Kageyama can be as scary as he wants on court but outside he’s just actually pretty innocent, and high schoolers can be SO MEAN even socially, even oikawa can be a jerk but he wasn’t picking on Tobio the person, just the player UGH I remember this arc stressing me OUT and he was alone, he’s pure-hearted, only can think about volleyball, DONT PUT HIM IN A DIRE SOCIAL SITUATION
