Digging Deeper #24: The ONEW Show Recap

Comments

I really believe you must watch a SHINee concert at least once PD…most likely in May next year in SK…😁

Yes, everything you said is totally true! It was a great show!

Hi kind Jjinggu, I'm glad you are doing much better. Onew's voice is so smoothing, healing, and comforting. I'm happy you have found him too. You have described why we love Jinki so much. I'm that girl who sat next to you both. I'm forever grateful to you for gifting me your ticket to see Jinki closer. Thank you so much.

I am so happy that you had a magical time at the show pd. I was unfortunately unable to attend it due to time conflicts and financial circumstances (partly contributed by Taemin's show a few months prior). But everyone that I've spoken to that did have the opportunity to attend said pretty much the same thing as well. It was a magical night, filled by happiness, healing, and overall just an awesome time with him. I'm lowkey so jealous that everyone got to see his beautiful face perform beat drum live, but I'm happy that you got to experience that for yourself. And yes, Shawols are some of the most passionate, kind, and respectful people I've come across, so I'm not surprised that you had a great experience with other fans in attendance as well. It's still my dream to see him (and all the shinee members for that matter) live, and I know someday that'll happen. For now, your story is going to keep my spirits up. I can't wait for you to react (after you've recovered more) to his new album coming up, as well as Shinee's newest release for their 17th anniversary. This song is truly special to us, and I hope you have just as much of a special time with it as we did. Looking forward to the rest of your shinee journey and hopefully more content from Onew and the rest of the members (especially hoping for concerts eventually).

I love all the SHINee members. They each have such different and magnificent charms, I could not possibly choose one a hair over any of the others. But on my hardest days, Onew’s is the only voice I want to hear. There’s something so comforting and authentic about it no matter what he sings. LA was the first time I’ve seen him live. When he’s with others, he’s so considerate and supportive - making space for the people he’s with to shine, relieving tension with gentle goofiness and self deprecating humor - it’s easy to think of him as having a smaller presence. So I was delighted to see how effortlessly, and how completely, he commanded and captivated the entire room, from the very first notes of Focus, when you could barely make out more than his silhouette, to his heartfelt ments, to launching balls into the balcony. With little more than a microphone, recorded music, and good lighting, he filled up the whole space. Ah yes, I was reminded, THIS is SHINee’s LEADER. Truly, Connection was the perfect name for the tour. More than other artists, Onew seems to understand that what most of us really want and need in this life is to make connections with other people. We get in our own way with our own expectations of ourselves and each other, but his music breaks us down to our imperfect fundamentals that we all have in common. By reaching out to connect with us, he invites us to connect with each other. I was sorry to have missed you at this show. I admire how well you express your thoughts and insights. I am so happy you are on the mend. If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll get a chance to run into you at a future Onew show!
