Tsukishima's celebratory scream is an anime-only detail and his voice actor though really hard how to execute it (intonation, pitch, length, etc) because this is unusual for his more reserved personality. How can such a person sound when overcome with excitement? I think this is a specific scene from this season that I go back and rewatch time and again because of how impactful it was to his character and how satisfying it is overall.

His arc is so satisfying to watch because you want him to love volleyball so bad, you know he has it in him to be a great player and it's awesome seeing even just a little bit of that come to fruition in such a small but impactful moment.

2025-03-22 16:51:59 +0000 UTCTsukki has been protecting himself all this time from feeling hopeful, repressing any attachment to volleyball bc he saw what it did to his brother and can’t go through that disappointment—but Tadashi knows him at his core, he hates losing and he wouldn’t actually do anything he didn’t want to, if he really didn’t care he wouldn’t even play, but deep down he’s always loved the sport and he’s allowing himself to feel that again and I just think that’s beautiful 😭

I cry every time I watch this episode. it's so amazing to see tsukishima's long journey of his development. and fun fact! tsukki's voice actor wasn't included to scream or cheer together w/ the team before this scene just to make his cheer more impactful to the viewers. 🥹

2025-03-22 13:49:00 +0000 UTChad the exact same feelings watching that scene for the first time 🥹 this is really one of the episodes I always come back to .. also it must be so difficult to strategize like that in real life!! volleyball players always have to pay attention to their teammates, opponents, movements and the ball all at once, and the fact that tsukki was waiting for that crack in Shiratorizawa's defense is insane!! such a genius play
