Something about is IT..for me. That dirty beat that comes in. Jonghyun and Minho both bring the XXX to music which I think is where they meet although their styles are different.. Ming gets missed sometimes with all the great voices in SHINee and the falsetto ad libs etc but his deeper rich vocals grounds their harmonies and pulls it together creating another level. He can do the high notes/falsetto..Gravity and Falling Free (his Japanese solo song) are good examples but his chest voice is gorgeous and I love it when Minho and Key bounce off each other either with their baritone or with their raps (my bias MinKey). I’m so glad Minho is being recognised for his vocals now too and I can’t wait to see what he brings next.

They are passionate about everything they release. They don't put a filler song. Everything is carefully thought about, selected, or written. They really did marry to the music. I can't wait to see what comes next from SHINee. Low key sad that Key was dethroned as your favorite SHINee soloist. I can't do that as a Key stan since 2011. I hope his next release will catch your attention again. BTW Waterfall by Minho featuring Lim Kim is such a beautiful gorgeous song. Hear it someday.

You mention having heard Taemin’s work post Move, but did you check all the albums like Never Gonna Dance Again? I could only find reactions to Advice, Guilty and Eternal albums, but maybe you did in own time.

You have such a way with them and usually voice what I wish we heard more of, especially when it comes to Minho and his singing since I think he's underrated even in our own fandom. He indeed pours passion into everything he does, and is particularly interested in telling stories through his music (which is probably why this album sounds so cohesive). I saw a radio interview where he spoke about exactly how music videos for some of the tracks would go in his head and how he would picture those scenes as he recorded them. Being an actor and having a degree in cinema definitely drives that interest in him. I wish I could translate this for him and have him watch it, hehe. Thank you so much for this reaction and I hope you have a blast going back through SHINee's work! :D

2025-02-28 07:03:41 +0000 UTCFun fact: the entire album reflects the run of a relationship, and when you listen to it in Minho's order that becomes much clearer. He loves R'n'B! Like, loooooooooooves it. At first he was disappointed that more of his song choices didn't make it onto Call Back, but he decided to listen to staff and I'm grateful for that. Not that a full album of R'nB would be terrible, Chase is 100% R'n'B, it's also...doesn't show what he's capable of. I am so very glad he put out an album. I kinda feel like shawols goaded him into it and quite frankly I'm okay with that, ha! He has a truly lovely, beautiful voice...and I too love how dirty and nasty he can get with it. I want more. As for concerts, each is fantastic and different from one another! I,,I'm going to recommend them all, haha, but if you only have time for one, I suggest SHINee World DXDXD in Tokyo Dome. ETA: yes, OT5 truly is the only way to go in SHINee. Your bias will be whomever's promoting at the time!

Sorry, but I love seeing you lose it over how each of the SHINee members is talented in their own way. That's probably why I just can’t have a favorite! every time one of them releases something, they become my favorite member. Really OT5 is the only way to go, especially because they shine the most when they are together. So I'm super excited to follow you on your SHINee discovery journey this year :)

He even has a James Dean's photo as his phone wallpaper. Now on a more serious note, this album is fire. Not exaggerating, "Something about u" was my favourite 2024 song, hands down. 'Call Back' is a no-skip album, seriously so good. I had the feeling you were gonna love it, I'm glad to see I was right 😊 I'm so excited about your SHINee deep dive, they are absolutely amazing, and incredibly talented.

My brain prefers full voices, so his deep tone when rapping was always great to hear in shinee songs, and I got duality when he gets to sing because he softens his voice to reach the pitch shinee tends to sing at (he complains about this in some bts videos it’s hilarious lol) His range is more limited, but he knows his strengths and is able to use them to a great effect. I think that’s why this album feels so complete, we see him shine (ha) in all the ways he knows how to. Once you get into shinee albums I hope you can see how integral he is to their music. He did not get singing parts at the start of his career, so all this growth is him pushing himself to be as well rounded as the other members. Even if he’s not singing a solo part, his voice is crucial to the backbone of the group’s songs, adding to the layering and harmonies they are so well known for.

I love his vocal tone and I think he's such an important and grounding presence in SHINee, and i'm so glad he's getting to show off what he can really do vocally in both group and solo albums! He has such a great personality and outlook on life beyond his KILLER looks, it was so refreshing to hear him talk about how he approaches different aspects of life and his job on an interview he did with by PDC! Please check out his first mini Chase, it's such a great EP too. Also he absolutely killed it on the seasons with Lee Youngji, it made me want a ballad album from him so bad... I enjoyed the Minho sexiness rant too, it’s a canon event when you deep dive into Shinee, PD, do not worry. I can’t wait for Shinee concerts reactions for real now, I already know they will blow your mind, they really are one of a kind team. I fell for them like instantly, not only for the incredible live vocals and performances but also for who they are. They’ve always had unique personalities, stylistically very distinct members, extremely maximalist and glam, almost camp stage presence. But also, they were not afraid to have strong opinions and speak on matters with eloquence and intention, especially about music. Add the bond they have developed throughout the years and the evident love they have for each other together with an overall devil-may-care aura and I was sold.

I'm curious to see your reaction to his CHASE mini album since he actually had a very large hand in writing each song (and maybe producing?) and tuning it to his personal sound. For this one he said he stepped back and let sm take the wheel since it was his first full album. Also when you finally do a jonghyun album ooooohhh I am so ready!!
