I was heartbroken when the news of their disbandment came so suddenly and could barely listen to their music for a while because it just made me want to cry every time lol. I believe there is something very special about them and their ability to convey emotion so genuinely that has been missing in the music industry as a whole lately.

2024-12-29 16:54:19 +0000 UTCYes, as a GG enthusiast, Gfriend reunion is probably one of the best news we have among the mess in K-pop industry. Seeing them since their debut and how all their entire career played out is such a journey. Glass bead may not be my favorite Gfriend song but it was good enough to put my interest into the group and then Me Gusta Tu/Rough/Navillera holy trinity were literally pulling me fully into them. Same as PD, Rough is arguably my all time Top 5 K-pop songs ever. The song is such a masterpiece. TMI, adding to the fact about Rough being their first music show win is that the song is until this day the sole second most music show wins with 15 trophies (only behind Apink’s LUV 17 trophies). Can’t wait for their comeback this January…we will surely be there to watch this comeback with happiness.

2024-12-29 01:54:43 +0000 UTCI found Gfriend in late 2015 with their first comeback Me Gustas Tu (with their viral performance under the rain), they are the group that got me into kpop for the first time ever, 2015... kpop was not as global as it is now, and here in South America I just saw that viral video in a local entertainment news and started to search about them and got into them, not only their music but I started enjoying variety shows or everywhere they appeared in, and also now everything is mostly on youtube and with Eng subs, for Gfriend I had to look for fancontent that subbed here and there their stuff. They made me stan later huge girl groups as Dreamcatcher (curious fact, I rememner some fans calling Gfriend "light Dreamcatcher" and Dreamcatcher as "dark Gfriend" in terms of their music -Gfriend includes a lot of rock in their songs- and synchronized dance), LOONA, NewJeans and now tripleS among others of course, but those I mention being my main line of girl groups. 4 years after MAGO, their voices have grown a lot, especially Umji, they have all been musically active of course (well Sowon as an actress and in some shows) but I feel that mature in their voices performing again as GFRIEND compared to their active era. For people who don't know Gfriend I recommend their entire discography, it's huge, but there is not a single song that does not deliver what Gfriend is, I'm anticipating so much their comeback, to enjoy their new songs and as a Buddy I've been waiting so long for this moment.

Especially when I saw that they included Here We Are and Eclipse since the entire Labyrinth album was so dear to me. But honestly the highlight was definitely Rough and really kudos to everyone who came up with the tracklist for this video bc it was so well curated and ugh. Also can you imagine that yuju sounded so ethereal even tho she was sick during the recording?! UGH QUEEN Also i bet you would really love her comeback song DALALA it was sooooo good.
