Digging Deeper #22: Happy Christmas

I hope on this holiday and this day where we might feel pressured for this day to be "special" this can provide some solace or insight on having a happier Christmas :)

The expectations (self-imposed or otherwise) can really squash you. Listening to you feeling peace and personal happiness this year brought a lil happy tear to my eye. Thank you, PD. And thank you for being vulnerable, for those of us who have complex feelings and memories around the holidays, these honest talks are comforting—sending much love! Also, remembering Jonghyun every December has gotten a bit better each year being able to watch videos and even laugh again watching him and Shinee being together, I know there was a time where I couldn’t fully enjoy it but I can now at least when I see him come up I can smile 🌹🩵

2024-12-25 16:08:47 +0000 UTCHave you watched Red One? It totally bombed at the box office but it gets into some of the mythology of Christmas from the Nordics which I found pretty interesting. I recommend checking it out. On a deeper note, I'm glad you're giving yourself grace on Christmas. Being autistic too, I have to be mindful of spaces. Crowds, lights and noise can be pretty overwhelming for me. I oftentimes find greater peace doing Christmas alone. When I was younger, I felt pretty guilty about that. Now it's easier to give myself that grace.
