Nostalgia got the better of me. My brother and I bought the D&D Basic Set when I was around 12 years old. I was fascinated, but still didn't know how to play. Luckily, we found a group and got to play in our first D&D campaign. B2: The Keep on the Borderlands is still one of my favorites of all time. Written by Gary Gygax, it gives the adventurers a home base (the keep) and a place to adventure in the Caves of Chaos, where several conflicting factions of humanoids have taken up residence.
The Keep itself (Kendall Keep) has been rebuilt from the ground up and can be placed in a VTT. Each of the areas of the Caves of Chaos are available as separate maps to use in your games.
Greyhawk: B2 did not place the Keep in a Greyhawk setting. In Oerth Journal #11 Russ Taylor wrote that the Keep could be placed in the Yeomanry in the Flanaess (that's where I put mine), along the southern border. Though I used Return to the Keep on the Borderlands AND Into the Borderlands by Chris Doyle and Tim Wadzinski as references, my focus is on the first module with these maps. I hope to expand them in the future.
