Free City Arena

This is our version of the Free City Arena, used with the Champion's Belt part of the Age of Worms saga.  It is inspired by the work of artist Rob Lazzaretti, (who is one of my biggest inspirations) and the overview map of greyhawk by Valerie Valusek.  The Free City Arena in the world of Greyhawk was described to be very similar to Flavian's Roman Colosseum in size and shape (the Colosseum is over 600 feet long and about 510 feet wide.  The Free City Arena is just under that.  The stands are supposed to hold "12 banks of 1500 seats each".  That's enormous.  I just wanted a functional map that could work for our game, so I had to size it down a bit in print, almost in half.  I wanted a map that would be versatile in size.  The gridded version of this map is in 10 foot squares, but for practical purposes, I'd keep the 10 foot square grid and call them 5 foot squares if printing to a poster, or just to bring the size down.  Of course, if you want keep the original size, then the squares are 10 feet, and the arena is nearly 500 feet across.

That's awesome. I only started doing them again because I contacted Rob Lazzaretti and asked him if he sold any of his art (the way Mike Schley does). He said he didn't have anything from that period, either digitally or on paper. As you can tell, I LOVE those stories. If you need anthing specific, just let me know. I'll be happy to do it and it won't take but a few days.

Your Age of Worms maps couldn't come at a better time. Ive tried and failed almost 10 times to run or play this adventure path. I legit made it my new years resolution to finally get another level 1-20 game complete. The one I DID manage to do was, in fact, Savage tide. Lol
