FIREWORKS VIDEO UNDERWAY!
Added 2025-06-18 07:13:46 +0000 UTCMuch like the Coca Cola video (which I am still working on), this fireworks video is quickly going from "hey, this is a quick easy video idea" to "dear God, what did I get myself into??"
I challenged myself to create basically every type of consumer firework and effect (aside from the explosive types, which the ATF and YouTube might frown upon that), and so far, I'm still milling black powder and waiting for my ammonium perchlorate to show up, lol! This video is a quick test I did for a red star composition (55% strontium nitrate, 20% magnalium, 20% parlon, and 5% red gum), which turned out alright, but I feel like trying a different recipe to see if it'll ignite better...
To give you all an idea of what I'm attempting (before the 4th of July no less!), this is what I have left to film:
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple color compositions...multiple of each, tested in star form (shot from a star mine, or maybe loaded into a store-bought mortar shell) and in fountains!
Crackle mix
Tiger and comet tails
Fish
Glitter stars
Various sparklers (including a basic titanium, the banned silver sparkler, and a modern iron variant)
Smoke bombs, colored and not
Snakes...have to invent this recipe myself!
The script is already 7 pages long, and it's not even finished...this could be a 40+ minute video if I'm not careful! A big thanks goes out to the people who donated a few weeks ago; without them, I might still be trying to get Skylighter to sponsor me free chemicals, haha!

Awesome! I'm a big fan of longer style videos - but that sounds like a ton to get done still - and before the 4th of July?! Stoked to see how the project turns out!!
