Since things are particularly weird and bad and hard for everybody right now, I (Clsn) thought I'd try to cash a check I wrote ages ago, and test out some new equipment at the same time. And so, what you get is this: the long-promised scene of Agatha Raisin getting all excited about her Sexy New Neighbor, alongside all the exciting Clsn specialties you probably know and might love, including wobbly accents, shaky character voice decisions, false starts and stumbles, long pauses, and occasional background noises that can't easily be avoided.
Peek behind the curtain: one of the pieces of equipment I was testing was a pair of headphones that are supposed to leak less sound than what I typically use. So as I was reading this for you, what was in my ears was this strangely compelling harp metal album The Palms of Sorrowed Kings by, and I'm not making this up, a band called Obsequiae. It's basically all I listen to anymore. But I'm pretty sure you can't hear any of it in the recording! Great call, J.!
